The Asia Center offers grants for undergraduate and graduate students from all of Harvard’s schools to conduct research or language study over the winter and summer, to present papers at conferences, and for student organizations, though the availability of funding varies across categories.
Grants are open to students that will be returning to Harvard for at least one semester following the funded activity. Students must be in good standing at the time of funding.
The Asia Center’s primary focus is on projects that look at the countries of East, South, and Southeast Asia comparatively or explore the relations among Asian countries. Individual country topics will only be considered if they are part of a broader, multi-country project.
Funding is also available for multi or single country research projects and language study specifically in Southeast Asia.
Through the Victor and William Fung Foundation Summer Grants, funding is available for undergraduate and graduate students to conduct research or study Chinese in China and Taiwan over the summer.
Please see individual grants for application and deadline details.
