Diaspora

The Asia Center organized the first workshop in a series on the Asia Diaspora, entitled “The Korean Diaspora: Faculty Conversations,” in April 2013 to underscore the increasing importance of the Asian diaspora in the United States to the relationship between the U.S. and Asian nations. Chaired by Professor Sun Joo Kim, Director of the Korea Institute, the workshop featured Harvard Law School Professor Jeannie Suk; Professor David Chung, Kim Koo Visiting Professor, Department of Visual and Environmental Studies, Harvard University; and Professor Ju Yon Kim, Department of English, Harvard University. Future workshops will continue to encourage discussion among faculty and students on the changing relations of the Asian diaspora to both the U.S. and Asia.
