Asia Center Undergraduate Summer Research Travel Grants

Harvard University Asia Center
Overview

In response to Harvard's ongoing travel restrictions, the Asia Center will consider funding undergraduate and graduate research grant applications that do not involve travel to international destinations rated Level 3, 4, or Unknown for COVID-19 by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Please see link to the Harvard Travel Guidance website below for up to date information. Applications for students who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and who wish to conduct research in countries rated Level 1 or 2 will be considered.

Research must look at two or more countries of East, South, and Southeast Asia comparatively or explore the relations among Asian countries. Individual country topics may only be considered for Southeast Asian countries or if they are part of broader, multi-country research. This multi-country context must be made explicit in the application.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Grant recipients are required to submit a written report upon completion that may be used by the Asia Center online and in printed materials.

Grants are open to students who will be returning to Harvard for at least one semester following the funded activity. Students must be in good standing at the time of funding.
