Jizhou Chen received his Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Studies in June 2015 from the National University of Singapore with an overall GPA of 4.08. Before starting at Harvard, Jizhou interned for a contemporary art center in Beijing. Driven by a need to venture beyond Asia, he attended summer school in Berlin and participated in an exchange program in Heidelberg. While his primary interest is in Sinophone and Chinese diasporic literature, adjacent interests include modernity, gender and sexuality, visuality, comparative literature, film, and art history. Jizhou’s interdisciplinary inquiry is situated at the confluence of translingualism, postcolonialism, transnationalism, and interculturalism.
