Summer Research Grants

These grants support undergraduate and graduate students conducting research over the summer. Research must look at two or more countries of East, South, and Southeast Asia comparatively or explore the relations among Asian countries. Individual country topics may only be considered for Southeast Asian countries or if they are part of broader, multi-country research. This multi-country context must be made explicit in the application.

Please note that some grants may be funded by funds with special conditions which will be made clear in the award letter. These may include receiving invitations to donor-related events or a brief visit to a partner institution during the funded activity period.

Grant recipients are required to submit a written report upon their return that may be used by the Asia Center online and in printed form.

Grants are open to students that will be returning to Harvard for at least one semester following the funded activity. Students must be in good standing at the time of funding.
