The Current State of Affairs in Afghanistan and the Region: A Year After the U.S. Withdrawal
The withdrawal of United States troops from Afghanistan in 2021 had tremendous impact on Afghanistan and the region in general. On September 10, 2021, soon after the withdrawal, the Asia Center brought together three journalists who work in Asia for a discussion about the on-the-ground situation. A little more than a year later, this panel will reassess the current situation in Afghanistan and the aftermath of the U.S. withdrawal.
