GEM24 and the GEM Incubation Fund
On May 1-2, 2024, over 230 researchers and practitioners came together from close to 40 countries here at Harvard to learn from each other on what works to advance gender equity. GEM24: Breaking Barriers for Women and Girls explored gender equity, with a particular lens on both the challenges and opportunities emerging from developing countries and the role society needs to play. While the focus was on women and girls, we also explored how shifting ideas of gender roles and identities can become enabling forces rather than inhibiting ones.
Now the GEM Incubation Fund is accepting applications!
The GEM Incubation Fund will provide financial support to new research collaborations which seek to incubate solutions, recommend policy action, and develop tools to advance gender equity in developing countries. Faculty with PI rights at their university are eligible to apply for funding through the GEM Incubation Fund. Preference will be given to applicants who attended GEM and proposals that highlight issues discussed during the GEM24 Incubation Rooms, although anyone who meets the eligibility criteria can apply
