Revisiting the 1959 Artifact Donation from the Government of India to Malaya

In 1959, the University of Malaya Art Museum (predecessor institution of the NUS Museum) received a significant donation from India. In her lecture, Priya Maholay-Jaradi explores this donation through the lens of decolonization, Third World solidarity, and nation-building, revealing the complex political and personal contexts behind it. This lecture was first presented as part of the third edition of the NUS Museum's Anniversary Lecture series.
