We are pleased to announce the release of John D. Phan’s new book, Lost Tongues of the Red River. In this book, Phan makes a deep dive into the history of the Vietnamese language, demonstrating that it evolved from a Sinitic language rooted in the Red River Plain of northern Vietnam.

According to Harvard College junior Laurinne Eugenio, the jeepney is a symbol of Filipino ingenuity and resilience. Jeepneys originated from the post-World War II adaptation of surplus military jeeps. As a cornerstone of Philippine public transportation, they embody the nation's creativity and communal spirit.
